Acceptable Use Policy

Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to all users of Play and Learn with David, including parents and the children they manage. It covers all platform features, including learning activities, games, chat, profiles, and any content shared within the platform. Violation of this policy may result in warnings, account suspension, or permanent removal from the platform.

Prohibited Behaviour

The following are strictly prohibited on Play and Learn with David:

Harassment and Harmful Content

  • Harassing, bullying, threatening, or intimidating any other user.
  • Sending hate speech, discriminatory content, or content that targets someone based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, disability, or any other characteristic.
  • Sharing violent, sexually explicit, or otherwise age-inappropriate content.
  • Using offensive, abusive, or profane language in chat or profile names.

Privacy Violations

  • Sharing your own or another person's personal information in chat, including full name, home address, phone number, school name, or any other identifying details.
  • Attempting to identify, locate, or contact another user outside the platform.

Impersonation and Deception

  • Impersonating another user, parent, child, or Play and Learn with David staff member.
  • Creating false or misleading profile information.

Spam and Disruption

  • Sending repeated, unsolicited, or bulk messages (spam).
  • Disrupting the normal use of the platform for other users.
  • Using automated scripts, bots, or other tools to interact with the platform.

Safety and Security

  • Attempting to circumvent parental controls, platform safety features, or security measures.
  • Attempting to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or platform systems.
  • Sharing links to external websites in chat (except where explicitly permitted).

Chat Safety Reminder for Children

Children should never share the following information in chat:

  • Full name
  • Home address or location
  • Phone number
  • School name or schedule
  • Photos beyond their chosen avatar

If a child receives a message asking for any of this information, they should stop the conversation and tell a parent immediately.

Parental Responsibility

Parents are responsible for monitoring their children's use of Play and Learn with David and ensuring their children understand and comply with this policy. Parents can review chat history and manage friend connections from Account Settings at any time.

How to Report a Violation

If you witness a violation of this policy, please report it immediately:

  1. Visit our Contact page.
  2. Select the Report Abuse department.
  3. Describe the incident, including the approximate date, type of behaviour, and any relevant usernames or message content.

All reports are confidential and will be investigated promptly.

Enforcement

We take violations of this policy seriously. Consequences may include:

  • Warning: for minor or first-time violations, we may issue a warning and notify the parent.
  • Temporary suspension: for more serious or repeated violations, access may be suspended while we investigate.
  • Permanent ban: for severe violations (e.g., sharing inappropriate content involving children, sustained harassment), accounts will be permanently removed without refund.

Parents will be notified of any enforcement action taken on a child profile linked to their account.
