This week's Franklin Flyer is attached below with all the latest news and important dates.
A huge shout out to our band and chorus students for an amazing Spring Concert! The hard work and talent on display were remarkable, and it was a joy to see our students shine. Thank you to Mr. Harder for all his hard work and dedication to make it such a special evening.
We also had two fantastic Field Days! It was wonderful to see our students out having fun, cheering each other on, and showing such great school spirit. Thank you to everyone who helped make these days a success.
Just a reminder, there is no school tomorrow, Tuesday, June 2nd.
Have a great week!
Spotlight on 4th Grade
Our fourth graders have been busy learning about New Jersey in Social Studies. They learned that New Jersey has been home to some of the world’s most famous people, among them Albert Einstein, Thomas A. Edison, Woodrow Wilson, and Bruce Springsteen. Students completed a biographical research project on a famous person from New Jersey. They investigated that person’s childhood, career milestones, and contributions to the state, then presented their findings through a Google Slides presentation.
In Math, the fourth graders recently wrapped up their chapter on the metric system and customary units. They are now moving on to measuring temperature and solving problems involving elapsed time, where they will continue building their critical thinking and problem-solving abilities through hands-on activities and collaborative learning experiences. In ELA, students are beginning their new CKLA unit on the Revolutionary War while continuing to strengthen their reading comprehension and writing skills through discussions, written responses, and text-based activities. As part of the unit, students will explore important events, people, and ideas from the Revolutionary War era while continuing to develop their ability to analyze texts, identify key details, and support their thinking with text evidence.
